Message from General Manager

In 2009, understanding the importance of having our “own” stand-alone Records Center, Lane Archive Technologies purchased its property in Mercedez Avenue, Pasig. Nearly two and a half years later, as the business grows, with nearly 1 million boxes of records marked the start of the construction of our second facility, Building 2. The official ground breaking is planned this month of May.Lane also holds one of the 12-seats from the Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Integrity Initiatives in support of our President Aquino’s advocacy in decreasing poverty as the World Economic Forum’s global priority by fighting bribery and corruption. Through the provision of an independent and private Records Center, integrity and transparency of any government and non-government transactions are preserved, controlled and managed to prevent from damage, loss or unauthorised access. We also hosted the Regional Asia Pacific Records Management Convention in February With PRISM, U.S.A (Professional Records and Information Management Services) in Manila attended bynearly 200 foreign delegates. The two main objectives of this are to: a.) to increase the level of awareness in Manila on Best Practice and Applicable International Standards in Records Management, and b.) show foreign companies that the Philippines is ready to welcome their business. In the next few pages, we shall show you what has kept us and are keeping us busy in keeping up with the global trends and at the same time serving the purpose for transparency by adhering to Best Practice in Records Management.I wish you the best in your business and thanking those who trust us continuously patronizing our services.
Colm M. Lane
General Manager

Green Philippine Island of Sustainability

According to the GPIoS, Metro Manila is in the top 5 most polluted cities in the world mainly because of industrial installations’ fossil fuel combustion. Although both waste management systems and ways to reduce wastes are promoted, the government is still having a hard time implementing them.On that note, the Green Philippine Island of Sustainability is a project funded by European Union’s SWITCH Asia Program which encourages the private sector to be more proactive in terms of their efficiency in using limited resources like water, and other forms of energy not only through conservation but also by using them efficiently and effectively. GPIoS uses the Eco Profit approach, which demonstrates that a good environmental performance by a company will entail high profit as well. Since employees know the company best, the programs (Eco Bonus, Eco Focus, Eco Sense and Club) are conducted for them so that they may apply their learning to further improve the operations of the company by using their resources efficiently, and minimizing their waste, etc

Planning of the implentation and procedures of the Green Philippine Island of Sustainability at Lane Archive Technologies

According to the Ponemon Institute – they conduct annual benchmark studies concerning the cost of data breach incidents of U.S. Companies – data security breaches can cost an organization up to $7.2 million on average per incident, 7% of which accounts for notification expenses. Their research shows that “more organizations favor rapid response to data breaches, and that is significantly costing them”. Although this is the case, the Ponemon Institute said that “moving too quickly through the data breach process may cause cost inefficiencies for the organization..”.The main reason for all the the complications is that the country does not have a national data breach notification law, so each state makes up their own set of rules and requirements. but the confusion is that the country doesn’t have a national data breach notification law, each state has a different set of rules and requirements. And these U.S. state data breach notification laws apply to all persons no matter what industry or sector the company belongs to or where the information was located.Source: (www.prismintl.org)
